California Art Club’s Gold Medal Exhibition

The California Art Club unveiled its hallmark event recently, the 106th annual Gold Medal Exhibition, at the Autry Museum with an exclusive preview event for collectors and artists. More than 200 were in attendance for the 12th annual Collectors’ Preview Dinner, which provides members of the organization’s Collectors’ Circle and their invited guests with a coveted first look at the paintings and sculpture on display. Artist Gayle Garner Roski serves as the chair of the Collectors’ Circle, and she and her husband, Edward P. Roski Jr., are the presenting sponsors for the exhibition.
On view through April 30, the Gold Medal Exhibition features 232 new works of genres ranging from pristine landscapes and seascapes to evocative figures and still lifes. Longtime Pasadena residents Peter and Elaine Adams, who have served as the club’s president and executive director since 1993, have been credited for elevating the reputation of this annual event into one of the country’s most anticipated displays of contemporary-traditional fine art.
