The 9th annual Black Tie and Burgers recently took place at the private Pasadena home of Jeh K. Meher. The gala featured live music by flamenco fusion band Calé, silent and live auctions, appetizers and desserts from Cynthia Brook’s Catering, and charburgers from local favorite, the Habit. Proceeds from the event fund the club’s year-round programming. More than 275 friends and supporters raised nearly $200,000 to support programing at the Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena.
“The club is so much more than an after-school program,” said Brian Davis, executive director of the Boys & Girls Club. “We offer more than 60 unique programs that support our focus areas of academic excellence, healthy lifestyles, good character and citizenship, college and career development and the arts. Our members swim in our pools, experiment in our STEM lab, play in our gyms, and explore in our computer labs every day. We infuse high-yield learning activities into everything we do.”
