New President of Showcase House for the Arts Named

Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts, which supports local music education with house and garden tours, has named Marilyn Anderson as its president. Anderson will lead the nearly 300-member nonprofit organization for its 2017-18 year.
“I’m honored to serve as president of this distinguished organization,” said Anderson. “The outstanding women and men who comprise PSHA personify effective volunteerism,” Anderson stated.
“Many of the thousands of guests who tour the Showcase House, shop at the “Shops at Showcase” and dine in the “Restaurant at Showcase” may not realize they have contributed more than $23 million over 69 years to support music education programs that serve people of all ages in the Greater Pasadena area and parts of Los Angeles, as well as the Los Angeles Philharmonic. PSHA is immensely grateful to the community for this broad support,” Anderson said.
Throughout her life, Anderson has made volunteerism a priority. Her contributions to the community includes years of PTA service, coaching her two daughters in both AYSO and club soccer, fundraising for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, leadership roles in PEO, participating as a member of the city of South Pasadena Finance Committee, and more than two decades of Active Membership in PSHA. Before becoming president of Krislyn Properties, Anderson was a vice president at City National Bank and Bank of America. She also taught finance classes at UCLA, the American Banking Association, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The 2018 Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts will be open from April 22 to May 2. Special ticket packages are on sale now, and individual tickets go on sale Feb. 1. For more information about PSHA, visit pasadenashowcase.org.
