Doheny Eye Institute and its partner UCLA Stein Eye Institute welcomed local officials and media to Doheny’s new headquarters at 150 N. Orange Grove Blvd. in Pasadena. Located moments away from downtown Pasadena, the campus will soon be home to the Institute’s vision research and clinical care programs. Along with Stein Eye Institute, Doheny is ranked the best vision center in the West and No. 5 in the nation, in the 2017 annual ranking from U.S. News & World Report.
The William L. Pereira & Associates-designed building was constructed in 1981 and was formerly home to the Avery Dennison Corp. Doheny is developing plans to redesign the 123,000-square-foot building to create the physical infrastructure to support laboratory research and advanced patient care. Construction will begin in early 2018, and Doheny anticipates that faculty and staff will relocate to the campus in 2019.
