Rose Queen Luncheon at Shakespeare Club Feb. 6

The Shakespeare Club of Pasadena will be welcoming 100th Rose Queen Isabella Marez and the Royal Court to the Shakespeare Club Villa for the annual Rose Queen’s Luncheon held in their honor on Tuesday, Feb. 6, at 11 a.m. Lance Tibbet, the 2018 Tournament of Roses president will be in attendance as well as Gerald Freeney, the 2019 Tournament of Roses president. The luncheon has been a yearly tradition at the Shakespeare Club since 1952.
Marez, a senior at La Salle High School, is a youth ministry leader, a member of Support Our Troops Club, Key Club, Unbreakable Club, Hispanic National Honors Society and National Arts Society. Joining the queen is her court: Princesses Alexandra Artura of Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy, Savannah Bradley from Pasadena High School, Lauren Buehner from Arcadia High School, Georgia Cervenka of La Cañada High School, Julianne Lauenstein from La Cañada High School and Sydney Pickering from Arcadia High School.
As guests arrive, they will be greeted by members and visitors of the Shakespeare Club and given a hibiscus rose iced tea or rose-scented lemonade along with hors d’oeuvres.
The event is open to the public, and tickets may be purchased for $45 per person. For more information, call (626) 577-2216 or (626) 793-5714. Early reservations are strongly recommended. The deadline for reservations is Jan. 28.
