Foothill Family Welcomes New Board Members

Foothill Family has welcomed Pasadena community members Pin Tai, William Chu, Carlos Schonfeld and Mike Morey to the Foothill Family Board of Directors. They were nominated and elected by the board for their strengths in community and business leadership and are poised to share their time and talent in support of Foothill Family’s mission to build brighter futures for children and families in the community.

Pin Tai
Pin Tai

Tai is president and CEO of Cathay Bank. He joined Cathay Bank in 1999 as the general manager of New York Region and became executive vice president in 2006 in charge of the Eastern Regions and EVP and chief lending officer in 2013. Tai graduated from the University of Rochester with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and received his MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

William Chu
William Chu

Chu is the COO of the Singpoli Group, and president of Invest L.A. Regional Center, a Singpoli-related company. Previously, he served as CEO of First Asian Bank and United Pacific Bank, as well as a senior executive at East West Bank. Chu is a certified public accountant with a master’s degree in business administration from USC.

Carlos Schonfeld
Carlos Schonfeld

Schonfeld is a partner at the Capital Group in Los Angeles, where he is both an analyst and portfolio manager. Previously, he worked as a strategy consultant for William Kent International in Washington, DC. Schonfeld is a graduate of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania where he received a bachelor’s degree in economics. He went on to receive his master’s degree of business administration at Stanford University.

Mike Morey
Mike Morey

Morey is the COO of Bolton & Co. Pasadena Headquarters, and chair of the Bolton Foundation. With more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, Morey has held management responsibilities in underwriting, marketing and sales with both carriers and agencies. He sits on the advisory board for multiple national property casualty and health insurance carriers and serves on the Azusa Pacific University School of Business Advisory Board.
