Senior Center’s Free Concert Series Underway Via Zoom

The Pasadena Senior Center’s popular free summer concert series for people of all ages is being presented online via Zoom on Mondays through Aug. 24 from 6-7:30 p.m.
Showcasing renowned professional groups, the concerts combine prerecorded performances with live music, interviews and interaction. The lineup:
• Aug. 10 – Sligo Rags will present Celtic folk music with a decidedly bluegrass attitude.
• Aug. 17 – Grammy-winning Lisa Haley and the Zydekats will play lively Cajun zydeco music with plenty of Louisiana spice.
• Aug. 24 – The Susie Hansen Latin Band will perform fiery jazz and salsa.
To receive the Zoom link for the entire series, register at pasadenaseniorcenter.org and click on Virtual Summer Concert Series.
The concerts are hosted by the center and sponsored by the Cynthia P. Rosedale Fund for Seniors and the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Foundation.
For more information about other center programs and services, including online options for classes, events and activities during the COVID-19 pandemic, visit the website or call (626) 795-4331.
The center, at 85 E. Holly St., is an independent, donor-supported nonprofit organization that has been deemed an essential service provider for older adults by the city of Pasadena, so its doors are open five days a week during the pandemic for social services and other assistance to older adults in need. Hours during this period are 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
