Richard “Dick” Heyes

Richard “Dick” Heyes enjoyed a long and happy life as a Glendale, California resident since his birth on March 31, 1925. He passed away peacefully February 11, 2021, at the age of 95. His parents Lincoln and Pearl Heyes moved to Glendale from the east coast in 1923. Dick was the middle child of three siblings. His older sister Gloria and younger brother Robert both predeceased him.
Dick attended Glendale public schools: Keppel Elementary, Toll Junior High, and graduated from Hoover High School in June 1943. His father Lincoln Heyes was a member of the Glendale Board of Education and had the pleasure of handing Dick his high school diploma.
After serving as an enlisted man in the United States Navy during WWII, Dick attended the University of Southern California, where he majored in business and was an active member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He married his college sweetheart Judith May Hayward in her hometown of Kansas City, Missouri on June 17, 1949. Their daughter Lynne Ann was born in 1951, and their son Richard “Rick” was born in 1954.
