Lanterman to Host Jewel City Flute Choir

Darrin Thanves, conductor of the Jewel City Flute Choir

The Lanterman Historical Museum Foundation will once again host the Jewel City Flute Choir for a spring concert in the Lanterman gardens on Saturday, May 20, at 2 p.m. The flute choir is directed by Darrin Thaves, a local conductor and musician who has an extensive background in music.
Thaves is a flute instructor at Cal State Long Beach and plays with the Northwest Sinfonietta. He is an honors graduate of the University of Puget Sound with a bachelor’s degree in music and a master’s in flute performance from Cal State Long Beach.
