Honeybird Chicken Sponsors Orthopaedic Guild Hosts Fundraiser

On Wednesday, Dec. 15, between the hours of 11 a.m. and 8:30 p.m., anyone who mentions La Cañada Flintridge Orthopaedic Guild when ordering food at Honeybird Chicken will be helping the philanthropic group to continue its support of Orthopaedic Institute for Children.
Honeybird Chicken will donate a portion of all orders to LCFOG that will help children at OIC. In addition to chicken, the establishment offers fish, salads and pies.

Dine to Support Orthopaedic Institute for Children Nov. 18

The La Cañada Flintridge Orthopaedic Guild will host a dining fundraiser at La Cañada Imports Nov. 18, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
By mentioning LCFOG when ordering lunch or dinner, a portion of each order made will benefit the guild in their ongoing support of Orthopaedic Institute for Children.
LCFOG has supported OIC for 65 years, both financially and by volunteering at the downtown facility. All money raised for this venture will be directed in its entirety to OIC where doctors treat any child with orthopaedic conditions regardless of ability to pay or parents’ financial status.

Orthopaedic Institute for Children recognized members of the La Cañada Flintridge Orthopaedic Guild for their many hours of volunteer services at a recent luncheon.
LCFOG members helped out sorting and selling items at the “It’s a Bargain Thrift Shop,” lending a hand at the summer sports day and Christmas parties on the downtown campus, donating toys for the annual trip to Calexico and baking cookies for the OIC staff.

LCF Orthopaedic Guild Honors Volunteers

Members of La Cañada Flintridge Orthopaedic Guild were recently recognized at the annual Volunteer Recognition Luncheon at Orthopaedic Institute for Children. Danielle Barrios, assistant director of Volunteer Services and Community Outreach, welcomed members from LCFOG, Las Madrecitas, Las Niñas de La Las Madrecitas, Las Vecinas and Las Amigas de Las Lomas auxiliaries, which were formed in 1956 and comprise Charitable Children’s Guild. Las Niñas de La Madrecitas was formed in 1965.

Orthopaedic Guild’s Leadership Takes on Another Year

La Cañada Flintridge Orthopaedic Guild board members include Marie Gilhooly, membership; Joanne Ploszaj, treasurer; Ginney Pruitt, vice president; Jopan Cleven, president and Marie Baker, recording secretary.

The La Cañada Flintridge Orthopaedic Guild’s recent meeting found President Joan Cleven once again at the helm after she agreed to lead the group for a third year. Many of the officers also agreed to retain their positions on the board.

Ginney Pruitt, Marie Baker, Elinor Bunn and Joanne Ploszaj will serve as vice president, secretary, corresponding secretary and treasurer, respectively. Danielle Barrios, assistant director volunteer services and community outreach, will continue to provide support to LCFOG, along with senior director Mary Beth Perrine, long-time liaison to LCFOG. The entire Orthopaedic Institute for Children staff provides support to LCFOG and its events and functions.
