Marx Willoughby, long-time local resident, passed away peacefully on March 19.
She grew up in her beloved Canton, Ohio, where she could trace back family ancestors for generations. The La Canada High School 7-12 PTA Home Tour is celebrating its 31st year by featuring four exquisite and well-appointed homes and grounds and an evening reception with a mini tour of another beautiful residence on Friday, April 28. In addition, one of the tour homes will be the site of boutique shopping, with eight vendors selling apparel, accessories and home décor items.
The homes will be open for touring from 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. and from 3:30-6:30 p.m. The separately ticketed evening reception is from 6-8 p.m. and will offer enticing opportunity baskets and venues for festive parties hosted by PTA members. Tickets are available online at lacandahometour.com and can be purchased at pre-sale prices online or at Printefex, Flintridge Bookstore and the Apple Cart until 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 27. The Apple Cart is the site for same-day ticket sales, beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, April 28. A presentation on healthy eating for cancer patients will be given at the Cancer Support Community Pasadena on Monday, May 15, from 6:30-8 p.m. The presentation is free.
Pam Braun, former chef and restaurant owner, will share her healthy eating plan for cancer patients and survivors. She will explain what to put into the shopping cart and how to cook it.

The Pasadena-Altadena Community Endowment Fund will host its 9th Annual Scholarship Luncheon and Fashion Show, “Hat-ti-tude with Attitude” on Saturday, May 20, to help benefit its scholarship endowment.

Flintridge La Cañada Guild is partnering again with West Palms Events for the annual Flintridge Horse Show. The event will be held at the Flintridge Riding Club Friday, April 28, and Saturday, April 29.
