The Kaiser Permanente School of Medicine Board of Directors has appointed professor of pediatrics, researcher, educator and health policy expert Dr. Mark Schuster as founding dean and CEO of its School of Medicine, located in Pasadena.

Cancer Support Community Pasadena will host its seventh annual Ladies Night Out, an evening of entertainment, laughter and commemoration, on Thursday, Oct. 5. The celebratory benefit was created to honor the courageous women in the community who have been touched by cancer. The event will be tiki themed and take place at Pasadena’s concert venue “The Rose.” The evening’s events will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Trump Nominates Pasadena Business Owner for Ambassador Role

President Donald J. Trump recently announced his intent to nominate Pasadena resident Bob Kohorst to be ambassador to Croatia, according to a news release from the White House.
Kohorst, who was among 11 ambassador nominees on Sept. 5, has expertise in law, real estate and finance. In 1994, he founded Pasadena-based Everest Properties, a company that purchases and operates apartment, self-storage and retail properties throughout the United States. Its portofolio is estimated to be worth more than $500 million.
