Fitness Options for Everyone at the Community Center

They’re having healthy fun at the Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge, with a variety of new fitness courses.
• Parents Play Too: Fitness and well-being for busy parents, empowering them to be role models for their children. The course offers functional fitness programs for parents of all ability levels during preschool and kids’ extracurricular programs.
Session Starts: Sept. 8
Meets: 3:45 p.m. Fridays
Fee: $200 for 11 sessions
• Mindful Children’s Yoga: Helps children develop habits that might help them to become more compassionate and self-aware. Children bond and connect with others and themselves by learning mindful movements, yoga poses, creative play/mindful activities and mindful meditation.
Session Starts: Sept. 8
Meets: 3:30 p.m. Fridays
Fee: $125 for six weeks
• Noho Hula (Seated Hula): “Noho” in Hawaiian means “seated.” Everyone can benefit from chair exercise — including those with disabilities, weight challenges, inflexibility, arthritis, knee injuries, are wheelchair bound or who just cannot get on the floor.
Session Starts: Sept. 6
Meets: 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays
Fee: Register online at no cost
• FUNctional Flow: Focuses on refining posture, flexibility, core strength and muscle balance.
Session Starts: Sept. 11
Meets: 6:15 p.m. Mondays
Fee: $120 for six weeks
