Hillsides Annual Gala Raises $370,000

Hillsides raised $370,000 during its recent annual gala held at the Langham Huntington Hotel. About 360 guests enjoyed cuisine, drinks, décor and entertainment with a Latin American flair as they raised money for the 13,000 children, youth and families Hillsides serves.
The gala, themed Las Flores de Hillsides, was chaired by Pasadena resident and financial professional Sara Simpson. NBC-4 Weathercaster Fritz Coleman and TV personality and award-winning journalist Jose Ronstadt were co-emcees of the live auction.
Also attending the gala were Congresswoman Judy Chu and L.A. County Supervisor Kathryn Barger, among other notable guests.
Another highlight of the evening was the keynote speech by Hillsides employee Randall Trice. Acknowledging his challenging childhood in foster care, Trice spoke about how he learned to transition from foster care to adulthood through living at Hillsides’ housing program for transition-age youth, Youth Moving On.
