Motivational speaker Scott Greenberg will return for an encore of sorts on Tuesday, March 28, for a pair of presentations at Huntington Middle School.
Greenberg, who lives in Los Angeles, will speak first to the HMS student body that morning and then to parents and community members at 7 p.m. in the HMS auditorium. He will focus on maintaining student unity and promoting confident leadership among the student body.
HMS Principal Jason Kurtenbach booked Greenberg’s talks, and the local parent group, Partnership for Awareness, piggybacked on as a sponsor.
Greenberg’s past clientele includes corporate names such as Nike and institutions such as the U.S. Air Force, and his work has brought him to all 50 states in addition to numerous countries.
“I think he’s more famous for speaking to companies and corporations and motivating them, but he does talk to schools and students a lot,” said Joyce Batnij of PfA. “He has spoken here before and he had rave reviews. Everybody keeps saying how great he was.”
Greenberg’s talks tend to focus on improving performance, both in skillset and mindset, and are known to challenge conventional thinking on common workplace or academic settings. As a 10-year owner of two Edible Arrangements franchises in L.A., Greenberg’s operations were routinely among the top earning in the state and earned awards for customer service and management.
Greenberg earned his bachelor’s degree from UCLA in 1992, but had to abridge graduate school at New York University in response to his cancer diagnosis. After beating the cancer, he ran in the L.A. Marathon to raise money for cancer research.
“From what I’m told, this talk will be very entertaining and very inspiring,” Batnij said.
