Dressed in long white gowns, 69 young women graduated from Mayfield Senior School in Pasadena on June 4, a class described by Head of School Kate Morin as “astonishingly wonderful, open, sincere, lively and joyful.”
“These are the qualities that have created a class united in love and appreciation for each other,” Morin told the crowd of about 1,800.
Every member of the class of 2017 will be attending one of 49 colleges and universities throughout the country, including Yale, Stanford, Notre Dame, UC Berkeley, UCLA, USC and Duke, among others. They received more than $8.1 million in merit and financial need-based scholarships,
“The class of 2017 will be remembered for their faith-filled spirit, integrity, intellect and sense of justice,” Morin said. “We know they will carry the formative values of their Holy Child education in their hearts for a lifetime.”
