Monte Vista Grove Homes held its annual Founders Gala at Descanso Gardens recently. Fritz Coleman, KNBC-4’s weathercaster, served as the emcee. Jason and Laura Berns of the Berns Group served as the top level Marwick sponsor for the sold-out event.
Monte Vista Grove Homes presented three Spirit Awards at the gala to the following recipients: Bob and Marian Hiller, La Salle High School and Trader Joe’s Hastings Ranch.
Bob Hiller served on MVGH’s board for many years and the Hillers have been active, longtime volunteers at MVGH. For years, La Salle High School students have volunteered each week as part of their community service program.
Trader Joe’s Hastings Ranch provides MVGH with $30,000 of fresh flowers each year that are used throughout the dining room as well as on tray tables for residents in skilled nursing.
Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and the silent auction on the patio before dinner. Coleman entertained the crowd of 200 with his comedy routine and ran the live auction before the Spirit Award Presentations were made.
