Pasadena City College Foundation Welcomes Four New Board Members

A volunteer board of civic leaders guides and governs the Pasadena City College Foundation as it pursues its mission to make higher education accessible to all. The board of directors welcomed four new members this fall, a time of high ambition for the foundation as it launches its first-ever major gifts campaign. During their three-year terms, the new board members will help marshal support for the Impact Campaign, which aims to raise $10-$12 million to secure the future of PCC and the surrounding region.

Diane Rankin
Diane Rankin

Diane Rankin is vice president with the wealth management firm Northern Trust. Rankin has decades of experience in the financial planning sector and is also a gifted musician. She is a graduate of USC, and as a former member of the Pasadena Symphony, Los Angeles Opera Orchestra and Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Rankin has also performed as a flute soloist throughout the United States. She is a longtime board member of the Pasadena Symphony and Pops and the Pasadena Educational Foundation, among other civic leadership roles.

Theodore Samuels
Theodore Samuels

Theodore Samuels recently retired from his post as president of Capital Guardian Trust Co. He spent more than three decades with the Capital Group, a global investment company that manages more than $500 billion in assets. Samuels holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree from Harvard College. He and his wife, Lori Samuels, are prominent philanthropists who support Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Zoo, the Pasadena Educational Foundation and many other institutions. Samuels has also served as a trustee of Pasadena’s Polytechnic School and Chandler School.

R.C. Schrader
R.C. Schrader

R.C. Schrader is managing director of the Latino Practice Group at Bolton & Co., the Pasadena-based insurance broker. His specialty is risk management services tailored to the needs of Latino-owned businesses. Schrader’s vast network in the Latino community began decades ago, when he was posted to Mexico by Gov. Pete Wilson to head up the California Trade & Commerce Agency. He currently sits on the board of the Los Angeles Latino Chamber of Commerce. Schrader attended UCLA and has been honored for his professional and philanthropic accomplishments.

Charles Stanislawski
Charles Stanislawski

Charles Stanislawski is president and CEO of Stanislawski & Co. Inc., a family-run accounting firm that has served the area for more than half a century. Born and raised in Pasadena, Stanislawski earned his master’s in business taxation from USC and is a founding member of the International Society of Certified Public Accountants. He has served as a city of Pasadena commissioner, and has held board positions with the USC School of Accounting, Pasadena Museum of History and Pasadena Civic Auditorium, among others.
