Palm Crest Elementary School hosted a back-to-school picnic, which was a wonderful time for families and kids to connect. This year, event chair Sarah Stark brought a new idea to the picnic. Organizations offering after-school enrichment classes for PCR students were asked if they would like to participate in the event. Parker-Anderson Learning Center came with their “Mad Science” demonstrations. The YMCA brought a robotics gear truck with drones and remote-controlled cars. Caroline Anderson sponsored the “Kindness Rock Project.” Students enjoyed painting rocks that they will be giving away and spreading throughout the community. It will be their way of spreading a little kindness. Los Gringos arrived with delicious tacos.
