SMHS Robotics Team Unveils ‘Stirling’

The San Marino High School Robotics team recently unveiled “Stirling,” the robot that will be entered into the 2017 First Robotics Competition game called First Steamworks. Robotics team business President Blake Castleman and engineering President Raymond Liu introduced members of the team as well as thanked the many mentors and sponsors.
Guests viewed a game animation of the upcoming competition (youtu.be/EMiNmJW7enI) before the unveiling. The team completed two robots, one of which will be put in a sealed container to be brought to the competition, and a practice robot, which students can use to work out any issues before the upcoming game. After a question-and-answer session, guests moved to the gym for a demonstration of the robots’ capabilities to achieve all the competition goals.
