SMHS Showcases Instrumental Groups at Concert

The San Marino High School Instrumental Music Department recently presented its 2017 Spring Concert to a full house, featuring performances by its award-winning symphonic orchestra, wind ensemble, string orchestra and concert band. Led by smhs music director Mark de la Vega, a total of 165 talented music students presented an evening of classical symphonies by Vivaldi and Verdi as well as contemporary works, including an Irish piece performed by the wind ensemble.
In addition to many hours of class instruction and rehearsals, the students also participate in workshops with professional technicians supported from the SMHS Instrumental Music Boosters and with supplemental grants from the Rotary Club of San Marino and the Chinese Club of San Marino.
