St. Anthony’s Says Opa! With Golf Tournament

St. Anthony’s Greek Orthodox Church’s 17th annual Pasadena Golf Classic was held recently at Brookside Golf Course. A Mariachi band serenaded close to 250 golfers at registration, and more than 300 dinner guests enjoyed a memorable day filled with live Greek music, food and fun.
Many restaurants hosted tents, including Paul Martin’s, Gus’s BBQ and Twohey’s Restaurant. Patrons ate short rib tacos, carne asada tacos, barbecue ribs, mint julep, cucumber chili lime margaritas and other libations. Other epicurean offerings featured roast pig and lamb rotisserie on an open spit and roasted goat in agave leaves.
Celebrants concluded the day with a successful auction. The golf tournament raised close to $1.5 million for St. Anthony’s Greek Orthodox building fund and ministry. Next year’s tournament will be held on May 4.
