‘Astronomer’s Dream’ Presented at Caltech

“The Astronomer’s Dream” will be presented on Saturday, Nov. 18, at 4 p.m. in Caltech’s Beckman Auditorium. This program is part of Caltech’s Science Saturday series.
This film is a journey through a computer graphic visualization of space, based on data obtained by NASA satellites.
Anna Ho, a Caltech planetary astronomy graduate student, will introduce the film and guide the post-screening discussion.
Tickets are $10 (general admission) and can be purchased at the Caltech Ticket Office, 1200 E. California Blvd., and at the Beckman Auditorium Box Office beginning one hour before the event.

‘Planet Earth: Caves’ at Caltech on April 1

“Planet Earth: Caves” will be presented on Saturday, April 1, at 4 p.m. in Caltech’s Beckman Auditorium. This program is part of Caltech’s Science Saturdays series.
The film, which is recommended for ages 8 and older, ventures into the underground world of perpetual darkness and the unknown while exploring caves, tunnels and caverns. The shadowy interiors of these natural structures are a breeding ground for bizarre and remarkable wildlife.
Erika Hamden, a postdoctoral scholar in astronomy at Caltech, will introduce the film and guide the post-screening discussion.
Tickets to this performance are $10 (unreserved seating) and can be purchased at the Caltech ticket office, 101 Winnett Center on the Caltech campus in Pasadena.

Noura Mint Seymali to Perform at Caltech

Noura Mint Seymali will perform on Friday, March 10, at 8 p.m. in Caltech’s Beckman Auditorium.
The winner of the 2014 All Africa Music Awards for best female artist, Seymali performs music from across the Sahara and West Africa through the sounds of Moorish griot.
Tickets are $25; youth (high school age and younger) $10. Tickets can be purchased at the Caltech Ticket Office, 101 Winnett Center on the campus of Caltech. Parking for Beckman Auditorium is located at 332 S. Michigan Ave.
