Local Students Join ‘March for Our Lives’

La Cañada High School students (from left) Bella Gardina, Isabelle Fisher, Abigail Lidar, Julia Quinn, Noah Jongeling, Lorenzo Lizardi and Kelsey Warda joined others from La Cañada Flintridge on Saturday at the “March for Our Lives” rally in downtown Los Angeles, which drew an estimated 55,000 protesters, according to L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti. A busload of people from LCF attended the march, which was one of many nationwide. The event was part of a worldwide day of action against gun violence organized by student activists in response to the Feb. 14 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, that killed 17 people.

LCHS Students Plan Walkout to Honor Florida Victims

The adults in the room at Tuesday’s La Cañada Unified School District Governing Board meeting still were deliberating about how best to handle a student walkout planned on March 14, but students on campus at La Cañada High School already had plans in motion.
