The 30-plus women on the committee for the Pasadena Festival of Women Authors met at La Casita del Arroyo recently, eager to hear the announcement of authors who will speak at the upcoming April 14 event. It’s the festival’s 10th anniversary, so extra excitement was in the air. The announced authors are: featured author Christina Baker Kline, of Orphan Train and A Piece of the World; Jade Chang, The Wangs Vs The World; Charmaine Craig, Miss Burma; Natashia Deon, Grace; Min Jin Lee, Pachinko; Jessica Shattuck, The Women in the Castle; and Hannah Tinti, The Twelve Lives of Samuel Hawley. Now that the big reveal has been made, reservations for patron tickets and tables are available. Open seating tickets will be on sale Jan. 2. The Pasadena Festival of Women Authors announced the schedule of participating authors for its event on Saturday, April 8, to be held at the Pasadena Hilton Hotel from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. The festival will feature Yaa Gyasi, whose novel “Homegoing” was one of the most talked-about books of 2016; Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney, author of her debut “The Nest”; and Amy Stewart, author of “Lady Cop Makes Trouble,” the second in her historical series, as well as four other outstanding authors.
