Walden School recently held its annual Big Help Day, where students and parents come together for a day of community service. Walden students from pre-kindergarten through 6th grade learn about being stewards of the planet as part of Walden’s curriculum year-round. Big Help Day projects included painting and planting succulent pots to deliver to residents at Monte Vista Grove Homes; cleaning up trash at the Los Angeles River and interviewing local business owners, parents, grandparents and friends using the StoryCorps app (a national storytelling, oral history project) and uploading their stories to the Library of Congress.
