More than 160 Mayfield Senior School alumnae came “home” to the Pasadena campus recently to celebrate Homecoming and Reunions. After gathering for Mass, Head of School Kate Morin presented the Cornelian Awards, Mayfield’s highest honor for alumnae, to Kate Standifer, a Navy pilot, and Abeni Car, an educator in Compton, acknowledging their “Actions Not Words” spirit in living out the school’s motto. Mayfield also honored two classes with Alumnae Giving Awards. The class of 1960 received the award for highest amount raised for the Holy Child Scholarship Fund and the class of 1966 received the highest participation award by a class, for a record 11th time.
Classmates gathered at dinner to catch up and reminisce, browse through yearbooks and take a tour of state-of-the-art classroom improvements as they rekindled bonds that made their years at Mayfield special.
