The American Cancer Society held its San Gabriel Valley Hope Gala at Noor in Pasadena’s Paseo Colorado. The event, which was attended by 160 people, raised more than $100,000.
The evening’s honorees were Dr. Yuman Fong from the Department of Surgery at City of Hope, and Lena Kennedy, founder and director of the Southern California Women’s Health Conference and Expo.
“I was very proud of the diversity of the crowd and the honorees,” said event chair Jeff Kean, who serves on American Cancer Society’s national board. “Dr. Fong’s experience on the medical and research side of things and Lena with her leadership in health advocacy and health awareness. Dr. Fong talked about his work and really got people inspired.
“It was a successful event; it was very social and engaging.”
