HEART Benefit Helps Families in Africa

Event co-chairs Paul and Lori Powell and John and Roxanne Basso welcome guests to the second annual Southern California HEART Gala on Saturday, March 24, at 5:30 p.m. atop the Pasadena Towers at 55 S. Lake Ave.
The Health Education Africa Resource Team (HEART) is an organization working with mothers and children impacted by the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Kenya through health care and education. Keeping 450 widowed or abandoned mothers and more than 1,700 children alive as well as educating more than 200,000 girls are the two main focuses of the foundation.
HEART has been operating for 18 years in the San Francisco Bay area. This is the second year hosting this event in the Southern California area.
Last year’s Pasadena benefit, “Night Under the Stars” exposed people to the beauty of what HEART does and the needs HEART has as it continues to grow its impact on future generations.
For information on purchasing a table, becoming a sponsor or donating to this year’s HEART benefit, contact Debbie Hornsby, Health Education Africa Resource Team debbiehornsby@africaheart.com.
