More than 200 members of the La Salle High School community gathered at the Noor to celebrate the 19th annual Crystal Ball Gala. The event, a Rock ’n’ Roll Sock Hop, honored Joe Lumarda as the 2018 Lasallian of the Year. Lumarda serves as the senior vice president and investment counselor for Capital Group’s Private Client Services Division and maintains a prominent role on La Salle’s Board of Regents. His son, Malone, graduated from La Salle in 2014.
This year’s event was co-chaired by Cheryl Allen, Suzy Rettig, Ellen Radle and a 15-member committee. The event featured a silent and live auction, which included a trip to Hawaii, luxury Staples Center or Dodgers Stadium experience, and a puppy named Lancer.
The Crystal Ball is La Salle’s biggest fundraiser of the year, with proceeds from the evening going to support the school’s academic, athletic, arts and financial aid programs.
