Altadena resident Stephan “Steph” Taylor is an alumnus of St. Francis High School as well as a proud husband, father and community leader. Before being diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia as a freshman in college, he was a scholar-athlete intent on breaking records and serving as captain of his team.
After his diagnosis, Steph focused on returning to school and the football field, and his positive mental attitude and support system helped him persevere.
Taylor is currently nominated for Man of the Year of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. His “Team Live Love Share” will be celebrating the last week of fundraising during the 2018 Man of the Year Competition with a casino night fundraiser on Friday, June 1.
The more money raised, the more likely it is that Steph will win the title of Man of the Year, and will be able to designate which project to fund. Taylor hopes to reach his goal of $100,000 so that the funds can be directed toward AML research. To donate, visit pages.mwoy.org/calso/los18/staylor.
