Dodgers Hall of Fame manager Tommy Lasorda received the Celebration of Life award at last week’s Fred Claire Celebrity Golf Classic benefiting City of Hope’s head and neck cancer and thyroid cancer programs. The second annual event was held at Oakmont Country Club in Glendale.
After a day of golf that featured a celebrity in each foursome, guests enjoyed a cocktail reception, dinner and awards program.
“We are grateful for the generosity of so many companies, golfers, celebrities and supporters of City of Hope,” said Claire, who has received treatment there for neck cancer and has made it his personal mission to raise funds for the institution.
