The Flintridge Prep varsity boys’ golf team defeated Maranatha High School, 223-232, in a nonleague contest at the Altadena Golf Course last week.
Senior Ben Sacks finished three over par with a 39 and Preston Ho carded a 40, giving the Rebels bragging rights for the rest of the season. Both teams call the Altadena Golf Course home.
Ho had five consecutive holes that were one-putts, and freshman Marcus Chen had a good drive on the sixth hole that was a 275-yard draw around a cluster of trees. That was followed up by 50-yard flop shot that landed 2 feet from the hole.
Jordan Chow and Daniel Kim led the Minutemen by recording 40 shots each. Kim’s best shot of the day was from 174 yards out with his 7-iron, landing 3 feet from the hole.
Maranatha fell to 0-2 on the season and will take on Sun Valley Village Christian today.
The Rebels will be idle until Thursday, March 28.
