Pasadena-Altadena Links Assist Locals During Holidays

Good cheer and great energy describe this year’s fundraising campaign sponsored by the Pasadena-Altadena Chapter of the Links Inc.  Co-chairs Shelby Larkin-Reid and Tara Newman-Rahman helped lead the effort by reaching out to friends with several opportunities to join us in good cheer.

This holiday season began with a contribution of hearts, hands and funds to make the food pantry at First AME Church the best ever for donations. On Nov. 24, members personally delivered four turkeys, cranberry sauce and donated cash along with all the fixin’s.

Furthermore, a holiday greeting appeal, highlighting the Links’ accomplished services and hopes for the future, will crown the season by raising funds, and by raising awareness. Donations may be made electronically this year with the help of PACEF, the not-for-profit investment partner.

“We encourage all to visit pasadenaaltadenalinksinc.org,” said Charmayne Ealy. “Donations give direct assistance to our youth-focused and community outreach programs.”

The Pasadena-Altadena Chapter of the Links is a women’s volunteer service organization committed to enriching, sustaining and ensuring the cultural and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry in Pasadena for 56 years.
