‘The Nutcracker’ Returns to the Stage — With an L.A. Twist

Los Angeles Ballet’s “The Nutcracker” is a beloved holiday tradition returning to L.A.-area theaters this December.
The ballet’s venues include the Alex Theatre in Glendale and the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood in performances scheduled for Dec. 4 through 26. Set to Tchaikovsky’s iconic score, this original production stays true to the traditions of the holiday story — with some surprises.
Created exclusively for Los Angeles Ballet and set in 1912 Los Angeles, each scene features hints and tastes of California — a Spanish-style home, calla lilies, bougainvillea, the snowy forests of the
Sierras, Venice archways, a moonlit Pacific Ocean and more.
Tickets can be purchased online at losangelesballet.org. Senior and child ticket prices available.
