Adventist Health Glendale Celebrates 115 Years

Adventist Health Glendale will celebrate 115 years next week as part of the hospital’s testament and dedication to the men and women who have made this organization what it is today.
Since Aug. 24, 1905, Adventist Health Glendale has been providing quality health-care services to residents of Glendale and the surrounding communities. Since its founding in 1905, generations of families have entrusted its physicians, nurses and associates with their health-care needs. With a heritage of dedication and commitment, the hospital continues to bring the highest quality of care to keep the communities healthy, now and in the future.

As one of the longest-serving businesses in Glendale, it has a proud history of paving the way for health-care services. Today, it is the largest medical center serving the San Fernando Valley, with 800 physicians, 3,000 associates and 150 volunteers.
Numerous accreditations, awards and honors from nationally recognized organizations validate the level of patient care that Adventist Health Glendale provides. This recognition, including a five-star rating from CMS and 11 consecutive A grades from the Leapfrog Group, have all come as a result of ongoing focus on superb patient experiences, continued expansion of advanced technologies like a structural heart program, and a commitment to providing safe, quality outcomes for patients.
Though the health-care environment continues to change rapidly, Adventist Health Glendale’s commitment hasn’t changed in more than a century. It’s that commitment that has enabled it to grow from a 75-bed sanitarium to today’s 515-bed facility providing exceptional care in heart, stroke and orthopedics; general and subspecialty surgery; as well as obstetrics and emergency medicine.
Join in on celebratory events on Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 2-4 p.m. for a drive-thru pop-up history. Participants will see historical medical equipment used throughout the years and hear about the history of the hospital. Everyone will receive an Adventist Health Glendale face mask.
On Thursday, Sept. 17, from 10 a.m.-noon is a drive-thru to pick up free fresh fruits and vegetables, in partnership with the American Heart Association.
For both events, enter the hospital campus from Chevy Chase Drive at Hospital Drive.
