Assistance League of Pasadena Hosting New Member Coffee

Assistance League of Pasadena is holding a prospective membership coffee at 4 p.m. on Monday, March 26, at 820 E. California Blvd.
“For more than 75 years, the volunteers of Assistance League of Pasadena have been dedicated to improving the lives of others in our community,” said President Julie Escudero. “This long-term tradition is one we are proud of and we hope to encourage others to join us in our programs:
• Underserved elementary school students receive through the chapter’s Operation School Bell program school clothing, a hygiene kit, a shoe voucher and an age-appropriate book.
• To support senior citizens, the Assistance League of Pasadena operates the consignment shop, Craft Fair, which showcases the work of local artisans who create unique, handcrafted items.
• Through its Assault Survivor Kits program, the chapter provides clothing and personal care items to survivors of abuse and sexual assault.
• Bear Hugs supplies teddy bears to local emergency responders to comfort children who have been traumatized.
Treasure Fair Thrift Store at 3239 E. Foothill Blvd. generates funds to support these and other programs.
