Big Win for the Waverly School

Daniel Kyle

Daniel Kyle, a freshman at the Waverly School, became the East Los Angeles District Champion in the Lincoln Douglas Debate at the National Qualifying tournament held at Damien High School. Kyle also is one of the youngest students to achieve his Double Ruby for Special Distinction with the National Speech and Debate Association, gaining points for both attendance at tournaments and awards received.
He began his training with Nova 42 Academy when he was just a 5th-grader and continues to compete for Nova 42 when he is not debating for the Waverly School. Kyle hopes to continue his winning ways as he will be competing at the National Tournament, which will be held this year in Birmingham, Ala., in mid-June.
