Pasadena Ronald McDonald House held its 12th annual fundraising gala, “Share in the Magic,” recently at the Langham Huntington hotel. Jacobs Engineering was honored for its continued generous support of PRMH, from preparing meals for families to sponsoring the inaugural Pasadena Walk for Kids. Actor/comedian Dave Foley of “Kids in the Hall,” “NewsRadio” and “Dr. Ken” served as emcees. The event featured an auction, dinner and dancing with entertainment provided by the band FM Radio.
Kristin Thorell and Lynn Crouse served as the event co-chairs and their committee included Suzanne Brugge, Jennifer DeBoskey, Natalie Cerpa, House Director Elizabeth Dever, Jacqueline Ficht, Megan Foker, Phyllis Harb, Rebecca Johnson, Patricia Kalish, Victoria Kemp, Alisa Krohn, Melinda Leung, Britta Piotrowski, Sarah Porath, Susan Ratliff, Linda Sabatella, Janet Sedgwick, Lydia Valenta and Valerie Gumbiner Weiss.
An affordable and supportive home away from home for families of seriously ill children being treated at nearby hospitals, PRMH has served more than 7,000 families since opening in 2004. The home provides families of critically ill children a place to stay, meals cooked by volunteers, a fully stocked kitchen, animal therapy, monthly family activities, laundry facilities, computer and Internet access, local transportation to hospitals and stores and a supportive staff.
