The Assistance League of Pasadena recently concluded its yearlong celebration commemorating its 75th anniversary with a champagne brunch at a local country club. “We’re very proud of our organization, our members and our continued commitment to serving the Pasadena community,” said President Irene Miller. “And we were privileged to have Pasadena Mayor Terry Tornek address the members and guests and present us with a proclamation on behalf of the Pasadena City Council.”
Following President Miller’s welcome, the Rev. Jolene Cadenbach gave the invocation, followed by a musical interlude by the Bronkar Family quartet. As guests finished their meal, longtime member Karen Morrison was presented with the organization’s Ada Edwards Laughlin Award, given to devoted, less visible members in the spirit of Ada Edwards Laughlin, co-founder of Assistance League of Southern California.
