Young & Healthy, a community-based nonprofit that provides access to medical, dental, mental health, and other health services free of charge to uninsured and underinsured low-income children, will hold its 2018 benefit gala on Jan. 27. The gala will include an opportunity to double the funds raised for the organization on the evening of the event.
For the second year in a row, the Helen and Will Webster Foundation has challenged Young & Healthy with a 2:1 matching grant for all donations made on the night of its 2018 Gala. This includes all donations made during the silent and live auctions, paddle raise and opportunity drawing at the gala.
The alpine-themed 2018 Gala, “Après Ski With Young & Healthy,” will be held at downtown L.A.’s newest and hottest premier event space in the heart of the fashion district, City Market Social House, and will honor All Saints Church and Neighborhood Unitarian Universalist Church with the J. Donald Thomas Award, and Darrell Done with the Alliance Award. These awards are given to those whose dedication, perseverance and selfless devotion to the wellbeing of children exemplifies the spirit that led to the founding of Young & Healthy more than 28 years ago.
Founded in 1990, Young & Healthy was born from a community need to improve quality of life for children in the Pasadena area. The result is a human-scale solution to a large-scale problem: people helping people; and health professionals sharing their time, skills and resources with children whose families would otherwise be unable to access that care.
The 2018 gala will help raise funds to continue Young & Healthy’s mission and ensure that all children have equitable access to quality medical care. All proceeds will benefit Young & Healthy. For tickets, individual and corporate sponsorship opportunities, or for more information, visit yhpasadena.org or call (626) 795-5166.
