ALF Scholarship Applications Open

Assistance League of Flintridge, a chapter of National Assistance League, invites La Cañada High School graduating seniors, who reside in La Cañada Flintridge, to apply for one of two $1,000 scholarships to help meet the costs of attending a four-year college or university in the fall.
The two Hillgren Memorial Scholarship Fund scholarships are awarded on merit, based on excellence in academics, character, extracurricular school activities, community service and/or athletics. Along with the application, students are asked to submit a 300-word personal statement setting forth how involvement in extracurricular school activities, sports and/or community service has helped build their character.
The Hillgren Memorial Scholarship Fund was first established in 1995 by family and friends of Mary Ellen Hillgren, past president of Assistance League of Flintridge and past president of National Assistance League.
Applications can be downloaded from the LCUSD/Counseling Department website or from the Assistance League’s website (ALFlintridge.org).
Applications must be returned to ALF, 4607 Oakwood Ave., no later than April 6. The scholarships will be presented at the Senior Awards Ceremony at La Cañada High School.
