Producers of the Pasadena Grand PinotFaire are planning their bi-annual event for Saturday, April 7, and are headed back to the Altadena Town and Country Club. More than 150 wines will be poured, complemented with culinary delights: cheese and meats from local purveyor Howie’s Market and Alexander’s Prime Meats.
This year’s event also brings back the second annual Pinot Noir Challenge, featuring five of the top wines on the West Coast, selected by Pasadena PinotFaire producers and judged by participants who purchase special tickets. Last year’s winner of the competition, Wedell Cellars, will be back to pour, along with Alma Rosa, Beaux Freres, Frank Family, Lynmar Estate, Patz & Hall, Reuling Vineyard, Rusack and Wayfarer, to name a few.
Mike Farwell shares, “This is the 10th incarnation of the Grand Tasting, called PinotFaire, with hundreds of Pinot Noirs and other varietals being offered in one place. This year’s event will truly be something extra special. Many wine critics and publications rate wines, but this event will feature a prestigious list of West Coast pinot noir makers and wineries.”
Pasadena PinotFaire will benefit the Greater Los Angeles chapter of OCA — Asian Pacific American Advocates, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the social, political and economic well-being of Asian Pacific Americans in the United States. From its inception in 1991, OCA-GLA has made an impact in the Greater L.A. area through community service, advocacy and organizing, education and leadership development.
