Annual 4th of July Celebration to Be Held at Lacy Park

Fireworks, a fun zone and food will highlight the city’s annual Fourth of July Celebration on Wednesday, July 4, at Lacy Park.
There will also be stage entertainment and a hometown parade at the community event.
The city invites children on decorated bicycles (accompanied by an adult) to participate in the parade. Bikes will parade in a special section at the front, and no registration is needed. Registration is required for anyone driving a vehicle. Bands are also welcome.
The fireworks display will begin at about 9 p.m.
Wristbands are required for entrance to the event. Residents can pre-purchase wristbands for $5 each at various locations, including City Hall and the Crowell Library, from June 11-July 3. Proof of residency will be requested, so bring an ID with your address or a utility bill. For nonresidents, wristbands cost $15 each. All children ages 2 and younger will be admitted free.
The Virginia Road entrance to Lacy Park will open at 7 a.m. on July 4. The Saint Albans Road entrance will open at 3 p.m. Guests with wristbands may reserve areas using blankets and chairs. No stakes or ropes will be permitted.
