The La Cañada High School varsity boys’ basketball team kept its perfect Rio Hondo League record intact by defeating visiting Temple City, 65-49, last Friday.
The Rams trailed by 10 after the first quarter but cut the deficit to one, 29-28, at halftime. However, the Spartans managed to find their rhythm offensively in the third quarter with 24 points to build a 10-point lead that they would not relinquish.
David Garland led LCHS with 19 points and seven rebounds, and Michael Herrick recorded a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds along with five assists. Ty Reynolds netted 10 points, Brady Ransom finished with nine points and four rebounds, Andrew Han had seven points and five assists, Brandon Chung tallied three points, four rebounds and two assists and Jacob Lee contributed two points.
La Cañada (4-6 overall, 4-0 in league) will travel to South Pasadena for a league game this Friday at 7 p.m.
