Children’s Bureau, a nonprofit leader in the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect in Southern California, will host its “Sky’s the Limit – Blue Tie Gala” on Nov. 4, from 6:30-10 p.m., at the Museum of Flying in Santa Monica.
The Blue Tie Gala, in which ‘blue’ represents the national color of child abuse prevention, will feature a formal multi-course dinner, prepared by acclaimed chefs, paired with world-class wines, an auction offering luxury items, entertainment, dancing and more. Over the years, the Children’s Bureau’s annual fundraiser has raised more than $1.7 million to support its mission.
The expected crowd of 350 guests will include corporate, civic and philanthropic leaders, who all share a passion for preventing child abuse and uplifting vulnerable families and communities. There will also be a VIP reception for corporate sponsors, where guests can mingle with the evening’s honorees and enjoy vintage champagne and passed canapés.
The Blue Tie Gala will honor Alex Morales, Children’s Bureau president and CEO, who recently announced his retirement after 30 years of service to the well-being of children. Morales’ visionary leadership has guided the 113-year-old nonprofit in the child abuse prevention and treatment arena and assisted thousands of vulnerable children and families both locally and nationwide.
“The funds raised from this premier fundraising event will go a long way in supporting the highest quality of child abuse prevention and treatment services to at-risk children and families in Southern California,” said Morales. “Over the past 30 years, it has been my honor to partner with dedicated board members, staff and other community leaders to make a meaningful difference through Children’s Bureau’s highly innovative and influential work, and I know that the next era under new leadership will continue to make great advances.”
Several ‘A-list’ chefs will prepare the multi-course dinner at the Blue Tie Gala, including Kajsa Alger (Blue Window), Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken (Border Grill), Bruce Kalman (UNION Restaurant -Pasadena), Jessie Liu (Providence), Joanne Ponvanit (the Getty), Steve Samson (Sotto and Rossoblu), Jane Soudah (Eveleigh), and Sukie Sum (Huntington Hospitality), among others.
The presenting sponsor of the event is Bon Appétit Management Co. Other sponsors include Mindy and Gene Stein, AECOM, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, City National Bank, Cushman & Wakefield, EY, Kris and Mark Gibello, Hancock Park Associates, Connie and Doug Hayes, Shelli Herman and Associates, Akieva and Martin Jacobs, The Renken Family, Julia Stewart and Tim Ortman, Carrie and Peter Tilton, Healthcare Partners-A DaVita Medical Group, National Account Services, an Acrisure Agency Partner, Stephanie and Peter Nolan, Atlas Family Foundation, Deutsche Bank, Grandpoint Bank, Sandra V.
