Falcons, Nitros Attempt to Rebound

Glendale High School’s football team lost to visiting Arroyo High of El Monte, 49-0, in a nonleague game on Friday, Sept. 24.
The Nitros (1-6 overall record) played Azusa High on Friday, Oct. 1, losing 32-22. Glendale will host Hueneme of Oxnard this coming Friday, Oct. 8, at 7 p.m.

CRESCENTA VALLEY

Crescenta Valley High School lost to host Pasadena, 46-0, in the Falcons’ Pacific League opener on Thursday, Sept. 30. The Falcons (1-4 overall record, 0-1 in league) will visit Burroughs of Burbank this coming Friday, Oct. 8, at 7 p.m.

HOOVER HIGH SCHOOL

Hoover had a bye last week. The Tornados (5-1 overall record) played Castaic last night, and lost, 48-6. Hoover will host Maywood CES in a nonleague game on Friday, Oct. 8, at 7 p.m.

Hoover, CVHS Are Victorious; Glendale Falls

Hoover continued its winning streak by defeating host Roybal of Los Angeles, 30-6, in a nonleague contest last Friday. With the victory, the Tornados (4-0 record) have their most wins in a season since 2016 and more than the past four seasons combined. On the year, Hoover has outscored its opponents 147-42.
Sophomore quarterback Ethan Davis completed five passes for 95 yards while carrying five times for 55 yards.
Meanwhile, junior Andrew Torres had a team-high 13 carries for 28 yards and three touchdowns.
Sophomore Joseph Dizon had four receptions for 46 yards, while junior Daniel Rangel and sophomore Isaac Perez each had one reception for 46 and five yards, respectively. Continue reading “Hoover, CVHS Are Victorious; Glendale Falls”

Hoover, Crescenta Valley Shut Out Opponents

The Hoover High School varsity football program’s impressive start to its first season in three years continued last week with a 33-0 non-league victory over visiting Beverly Hills on Sept. 3.

Undefeated Tornados Off to Best Start Since 2016

The undefeated Hoover High School’s varsity football team continued its early season roll by defeating visiting Lynwood High, 20-13, on Aug. 27 in a nonleague matchup.
With the victory, the Tornados (2-0 record) are off to their best start to a season since 2016, when they won their first three games. The current roll is especially sweet for Hoover players, coaches and supporters because the school was unable to field a varsity squad last season.
