A group of Carver Elementary School parents gathered recently at Stride, a treadmill running studio in Pasadena, and collectively burned more than 7,500 calories in a 55-minute high intensity interval running/walking class. After the class, each participant received a special “Carver Rocks!” workout towel and smoothie generously donated by Robeks Juice, while Stride raffled off T-shirts and sweatshirts.
There was a special Carver connection — Stride was founded by Katie Ownbey, who grew up in San Marino and is a Carver alumna, and Misa Dugally, whose two daughters attended Carver. The event was one of several buy-in parties offered in conjunction with Carver’s recent parent party; 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Carver’s PTA. Stride is located at 905 Granite Drive.
