Marjorie Cameron

Marjorie Cameron was a longtime resident of La Crescenta. A beautiful person and loving mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, and daughter, Linda. She is survived by her daughter Susan Cameron Kelley, her son James Cameron, a son Steven Cameron, five grandchildren, one great-grandson, nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

Sally Lewis Horner passed away quietly after a 10-year struggle with dementia, surrounded by her family, on Jan. 24, just two weeks after her 81st birthday. Sally was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. on Jan. 7, 1936, the daughter of Janet Fraser Lewis and Mahlon E. Lewis. She was raised in Ben Avon Heights, a small community south of Pittsburgh. Sally graduated from Winchester-Thurston School after which she matriculated at Connecticut College for Women in New London, Conn. The summer following her freshman year she met the love of her life, Michael H. Horner, who had just finished his freshman year at Cornell University. Obituary: Mary K. DeLurgio

Mary K. DeLurgio

Mary K. DeLurgio, a longtime La Cañada Flintridge resident, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 10, after a protracted battle with cancer. Mary K. was born in Mexico City on May 2, 1937.  She was an accomplished author of two books and was a Marriage and Family Therapist in La Cañada Flintridge for more than 45 years. She impacted the lives of many in our community and will be missed for a long time to come.

Obituary: Donald W. Brown

Donald Walter Brown, 87, of La Cañada Flintridge, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, Dec. 6, at his home. Don was born in Bergen County, New Jersey in 1929 to Walter and Elizabeth (Egan) Brown. He was the oldest of three children. He graduated from Pennington School in 1947, where he was a dedicated and successful athlete, and went on to graduate with a civil engineering degree from Colorado State A&M in 1956, following his service in the U.S. Army.  Continue reading “Obituary: Donald W. Born in Buffalo, N.Y., she resided in La Cañada Flintridge, Montrose and Pasadena, working with Dilbeck Realtors in both La Cañada Flintridge and La Crescenta offices, as well as Coldwell Banker’s La Cañada Flintridge office, during her approximate 40 years in real estate. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack, and leaves behind a son, Scott, who lives in Fort Collins, Colo., and a granddaughter, Gabi. Memorial services will be held at Forest Lawn Glendale in the Little Church of the Flowers at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 20. Internment is to follow.

Vineda Ann Smith Mitchell, 75, passed away on Nov. 17 at her home in Monrovia following a long battle with cancer. She was born on May 20, 1941, in Denver to Vincent and Edith Smith. Hence her name is a combination of their names Vincent and Edith.
Vineda grew up in Englewood, Colo., and graduated from Englewood High School in 1959. After high school, she attended John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Ark., where she received an associate’s degree.
Vineda married Robert Mitchell in 1962 in Englewood, and they were married for 28 years. Early in her life, she worked as a secretary while her husband finished school. She then became pregnant and motherhood began. Continue reading “Obituary: Vineda Ann Smith Mitchell”
