Friends of Foster Children will host its fundraising luncheon on Saturday, March 25, at the Monrovia Community Center. The luncheon is open to members of the community.
To continue its 40th anniversary celebration, the luncheon will transport guests back to 1976 when Friends of Foster Children began. Tickets are $38 per person. The Americana at Brand kicks off the Year of the Rooster on Saturday, Feb. 4, from 2-5 p.m. Presented by Capital One, the festivities will begin with a parade around the shopping center followed by cultural onstage performances, lion dances, a 10-person dragon, stilt walkers, acrobats, and arts and crafts.
The event will conclude with a special performance by Culture Shock L.A. Traditional Asian food vendors include Cloud Food Creations, Belly Bombz, Nitro-Pop, the Ensaymada Project and Coco Fresh Tea & Juice.
Guests will receive lucky red envelopes from the God of Wealth that contains cash, prizes and more.
Admission is free, but some activities require a ticket(s). Tickets are sold for $1 each. Prices for food vendors vary.

The Pacific Camellia Society kicks off its 2017 series of meetings with speaker Tom Nuccio of Nuccio’s Nursery 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2, at Descanso Gardens.
In addition to being a humorous, enthusiastic speaker, Nuccio brings a vast array of beautiful blossoming camellia plants to talk about at the meeting. Many of the camellia plants are donated to the society for raffling off to the audience at the end of the meeting. Nuccio will be available to answer questions about growing camellias.
Rose Bowl Legacy Foundation has announced the addition of five key members to its leadership, including three new board of directors members — Shelley Thompson, Shiva Sattar and Betty Uribe — and two new advisory committee members, Dr. Lily Lee and David Misch.
“The addition of these key community members continues to strengthen the mission of Legacy and the leadership outlook that we are growing as we protect the future of this iconic landmark venue,” said Rose Bowl Legacy Foundation Executive Director Dedan Brozino.
